Community Guidelines
Last updated: July 23, 2026
Play Session Zero exists to help tabletop roleplaying players find great groups, build lasting campaigns, and enjoy the hobby together.
These guidelines explain the standards we expect from everyone using the Platform. They are intended to encourage good experiences — not to police personalities.
If you’re acting in good faith and treating others with basic respect, you’re probably doing fine.
1.Respect Other Players
Treat other users as fellow players.
Disagreements about rules, play styles, editions, or game systems are part of the hobby. Personal attacks, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or threats are not.
Debate ideas. Don’t attack people.
2.Be Honest
Profiles, tables, and reviews should accurately represent who you are and what happened.
Do not:
- Impersonate another person.
- Create fake accounts.
- Submit reviews for games you did not participate in.
- Manipulate ratings or reputation systems.
- Mislead players about your game or intentions.
Trust is one of the Platform’s most valuable resources.
3.Respect People's Time
Everyone’s schedule matters.
If you cannot attend a game, let your group know as soon as possible.
Repeatedly abandoning games, intentionally ghosting groups, or accepting seats you never intend to play hurts everyone involved.
Life happens. Patterns matter.
4.Create the Game You Advertise
Be honest about:
- The game system.
- House rules.
- Tone.
- Schedule.
- Experience level.
- Expected commitment.
- Whether the game is online or in person.
Players should know what they’re joining before they commit.
5.Reviews Should Help Future Players
Reviews exist to help the community make informed decisions.
Good reviews describe actual experiences. They should not be used to:
- Settle personal arguments.
- Threaten another user.
- Pressure someone outside the Platform.
- Retaliate for receiving another review.
A negative review is not automatically harassment. A positive review is not automatically truthful.
Moderators may remove reviews that are abusive, fraudulent, or clearly made in bad faith.
6.Respect Boundaries
Every table is different. Discuss expectations before the campaign begins.
Topics like mature themes, player comfort, scheduling, homebrew rules, and safety tools should be communicated openly between participants.
Play Session Zero does not decide how your table should play. Your group does.
7.Illegal and Harmful Content
Do not use the Platform to:
- Break the law.
- Share illegal material.
- Promote violence against others.
- Encourage self-harm.
- Distribute malware or malicious software.
- Scam or defraud other users.
Content that creates an immediate risk to others may result in immediate account suspension.
8.Keep the Platform About TTRPGs
Play Session Zero exists to help people play tabletop roleplaying games. Using the Platform primarily for spam, advertising unrelated services, or mass self-promotion may result in moderation action.
Reasonable discussion related to the hobby is always welcome.
9.Report Problems in Good Faith
If someone violates these guidelines, report it.
Include enough information for moderators to understand what happened.
False or malicious reports may themselves violate these guidelines.
10.Moderation
Moderators review reports and may take action when necessary. Possible actions include:
- Removing content.
- Issuing warnings.
- Restricting platform features.
- Temporarily suspending accounts.
- Permanently removing accounts.
Not every disagreement requires moderator intervention. Where possible, we encourage players to resolve ordinary table disagreements themselves.
11.Meeting in Person
Many great campaigns begin online and continue around a real table. If you choose to meet another user in person:
- Meet somewhere appropriate.
- Use good judgment.
- Tell someone you trust where you're going.
- Leave if you feel unsafe.
Play Session Zero cannot guarantee the identity or conduct of other users.
12.Help Build the Community
The best groups are built on trust.
Be the kind of player people hope joins their table.
- Communicate clearly.
- Respect other people's time.
- Leave honest reviews.
- Welcome new players.
- Share the spotlight.
A good campaign is created by everyone at the table.
